About Ciliate.org

Ciliate.org began in 2004 at Stanford University as Tetrahymena Genome Database, using the schema and programs of its parent project, Saccharomyces Genome Database to display the sequences of this model protozoan. The project has since moved to Bradley University, where we collaborate to host ciliate genome sequences produced by researchers at a number of other institutions. Development of TGD and Ciliate.org is funded by a grant from the National Institutes of Health ("A Resource Center for Tetrahymena thermophila", P40 RR019688/RR/NCRR NIH, awarded to Ted Clark at Cornell University) and by Bradley University. Our mission is to collect and display annotations of ciliate genomes to members of the ciliate research community.

We currently maintain genome databases for the following organisms. If you have sequenced the genome of a ciliate or other organism you would like displayed in a similar user-updatable website, please contact us at ciliate-curator@bradley.edu.
